The reports circulating in Germany and England were correct as Januzaj has joined Dortmund on a one-year loan deal.
After seeing his chances dried up at Manchester United and under Louis Van Gaal, Januzaj was forced to move out of the club for the time being to keep up his development.
The 20-year-old has seen his chances of first-team football at Old Trafford restricted under Louis van Gaal and he has now joined the Bundesliga side until the end of the season, where he will wear number nine.
He told the club’s official website: “Borussia Dortmund is a big club and the fans are supposed to be unbelievable here. I want to achieve big things with this team.”
Januzaj had initially announced his intention to stay at the club after scoring the winning goal against Aston Villa, in what was his first league start since February, announcing his desire to “fight for his place”.
However, the Belgium international is now reunited with his former Manchester United teammate Shinji Kagwa.
