Wantaway England striker considers French move

Free spending Paris Saint-Germain are ready to put together a world record bid of £100million to bring Wayne Rooney the French giants.

The England international handed in a transfer request last week and immediately sent PSG on red alert as they set him as their number one target for the Summer transfer window.

The mega rich club’s owners have also announced that they will offer the player a contract with an astonishing £15million a year after tax. This would equal their current star striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic,, however he has been linked with a move away from the club after just one season following his move from Ac Milan last summer.

Ibrahimovic is reportedly to have had a £40million transfer fee slapped on him, as the Ligue 1 champions are ready to offer Rooney a four-year contract in an attempt to lure him away from the Premier League and Manchester United.

However they are aware that they are not the only team in contention to sign the 27-year-old, as fellow rich French club Monaco are rumoured to be interested.

Meanwhile Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal are believed to be keeping a watch out on the player’s situation at Old Trafford, but both English clubs would stand no chance of competing with the French clubs’ riches they could offer to Rooney.

It was revealed on Monday that Rooney has become fed up at the Red Devils following a string of bad performances, injuries and growing frustration, but newly appointed manager David Moyes is set to have a meeting with him when he officially takes over from Sir Alex Ferguson on July 1st, where they will discuss Rooney’s future before any decision is made.

The England star revealed that he did not make a formal transfer request to the club, but on the other hand United insisted that the player had asked them to let him move on to a new club. Rooney insists that he actually is holding on hope that they will begin negotiations about a new contract.

Rooney’s future remains unclear as no one is sure that he would be able to turn down the wages that PSG are believed to be offering, however will he accept this over a higher standard of football in the Premier League.

Will he be accepted at both Chelea or Arsenal following his performances against them in past meetings.

His frustration began at the club after he had to accept a central midfield role in the starting line up instead of his preferred role as Striker, and it is believed that he will only stay at the club if he is assured that he will get his preferred role.

Manchester United are believed to be in the market for a new striker regardless with Rooney’s team mate Danny Welbeck only able to contribute 2 goals all season, with the club linked with moves for Robert Lewandowski.

Meanwhile the club also has youngster Wilfred Zaha joining the club on July 1st.

Lewis Jones has a wealth of experience in both online and offline sports media despite his young age, and has worked at a variety of well known brands and publications in the UK.
