The Premier League darts action continues tonight as the rollercoaster comes to Wales, and the Motor Point Arena in Cardiff, as James Wade, Andy Hamilton, Simon Whitlock, Adrian Lewis and Kevin Painter try to catch table topping Phil Taylor, who is once again short odds with Paddy Power to win his match.
Sadly, ahead of the Premier League darts heading to Cardiff this week, Gary Anderson has been forced to pull out because of the recent death of his father.
The reigning Champion will not be able to compete at the Motorpoint Arena on Thursday evening as he will be attending the funeral in Scotland.
The show must go on though and to ensure the crowd don’t miss out on a match, World Champion Adrian Lewis will play twice in front of the sell-out crowd. He will be first up against Andy Hamilton, before completing the action against Raymond van Barneveld.
Lewis won his first game in seven weeks in Dublin last Thursday and now he has the chance to add two more victories to his tally. It may be a lot to ask, but he has an excellent chance to gain some momentum.
Speaking after last week’s win, he said: “It’s obviously a big relief, to take seven games to get a win shows how tough the Premier League is. I know there’s a lot more to come and I can go from strength to strength.”
Elsewhere on Thursday evening, popular duo James Wade and Simon Whitlock go head to head, while Kevin Painter takes on the in-form Phil Taylor.
The Power destroyed Wade last week in a thrilling performance and he would love a repeat to consolidate his place at the top of the Premier League table. He may have described it as a ‘tough’ game afterwards, but in the end he ran out an 8-2 winner.
Here is the line up for Thursday evening in Cardiff –
Adrian Lewis v Andy Hamilton
James Wade v Simon Whitlock
Kevin Painter v Phil Taylor
Raymond van Barneveld v Adrian Lewis
As ever, it is sure to be a fantastic evening of darts with the lively Lewis in action twice, Taylor looking to continue his top form and the rest of the field searching for crucial wins.
Bring it on.
