15-year-old teenager Foday Nabay has been lined up with a summer move to Fulham after the London side had an offer accepted by Birmingham City.
Birmingham manager Lee Clark had been hopeful of hanging on the Sierra-Leone born player, but despite his endeavours it looks like the player will be joining the Premier League side.
The Under-16 England international is believed to want to move to London for family reasons and a move to Craven Cottage would be ideal.
Clark told the clubs official website: “”I made it abundantly clear to Foday in several meetings with him that he had the potential to become the youngest-ever player to play for Birmingham City Football Club’s first team this season at the age of 15.
“That was how highly I rate him and how highly the club rate him. We wanted him to stay but as a football manager I couldn’t have done any more.
“I was offering him the opportunity that as long as he continued in the way he was with his development and continued to show the qualities that he has then there would be first-team openings for him.
“He’s going to a super club in Fulham because I know them very well having spent seven great years there myself but I just wish we could have had the time to make him part of my current group.
“It wasn’t to be, he’s made the decision, we wish him all the best for future and we’ll move forward.”
Martin Jol’s side have also been linked with a move for West Bromwich Albion defender Liam Ridgewell. The former Aston Villa player could make his way to London in the coming weeks.
Another defender that could be on his way to the Dutchman’s side is Liverpool’s Uruaguyan defender Sebastian Coates. Having failed to settle and make a relative impact at Anfield a move away for the player appears likely and if a proce can be agreed for the player it is likely that Brendan Rodgers would be willing to let Coates leave.
Jol has already secured the signatures of three players since the end of last season, landing Derek Boateng from Dnipro Dnipropertovsk and Fernando Amorebieta from Athletico Madrid on free transfers.
Having lost Mark Schwarzer to Chelsea, Jol has brought in goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg from Roma.
Other players linked with a move to London are Darren Bent from Aston Villa, Emmanuel Frimpong from Arsenal and Yohan Mollo from Nancy and Stewart Downing from Liverpool.
