Kenny Dalglish’s men ran out 2-0 winners at the Emirates as their new look team put in a performance that will encourage fans of the club.

Following a disappointing 1-1 draw against Sunderland on the opening day though, they will be determined to get their first Anfield win under their belts this weekend.

As for Bolton, they started the campaign in fantastic fashion with a 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers, but suffered a home defeat to Manchester City last time out.

There is no doubt that Owen Coyle’s men will relish the challenge of travelling to Liverpool though as they look to put Gary Cahill to Arsenal transfer talk to one side for the evening.

Liverpool will go into the game as favourites, not only because they have looked a decent side so far this season, but because they have a fantastic recent record over Bolton.

The Reds have secured victory over Wanderers on the last nine times the two sides have met, with Bolton’s last victory coming in September 2006 when Sam Allardyce’s men ran out 2-0 winners.

Looking at the team news for this one, Liverpool will be without the injured Raul Meireles who joins club captain Steven Gerrard and full-back Glen Johnson on the sidelines.

Luis Suarez – who has netted in all three of Liverpool’s games so far – will start alongside Andy Carroll up front as Liverpool look to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign.

As for Bolton, new-signing Tuncay Sanli is pushing for a start after impressing in the Carling Cup during the week. It is likely that Coyle will keep faith with the same side that lost narrowly to Manchester City though.

This should be an entertaining match. Only Manchester City have scored more than Bolton in the opening two league games, while Liverpool’s attacking talent is there for all to see.

This one gets underway at 5.30pm on Saturday evening.
