Roma will look to finally get their season under way after a less than spectacular start, with three points against Parma the perfect tonic to their early season woes.

Luis Enrique’s men have only managed to find the net once in their two games so far, and succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Cagliari and scrapping their way to a 0-0 draw with the woefully out of form Inter Milan to leave them in 15th behind fellow fallen giants AC Milan and level on points with Inter.

The lack of goals is a big worry for Enrique with Daniele Di Rossi’s effort against Cagliari the only time his team have found the net this season, however the Spaniard will be confident of breaking that duck against Parma; they have the worst defensive record in the league having conceded eight goals in their opening three games.

After a big money takeover during the summer hopes were high that Roma would be able to challenge for honours this season, and if Enrique doesn’t start picking up wins sooner rather than later, he may find his own role as manager being questioned.

Roma could be without goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg after the Dutchman was knocked unconscious in the draw against Inter, meaning Bogdan Lobont could step into the side if he fails to recover in time.

The Giallorossi also have doubts over defensive duo Cicinho and Juan, both of whom are carrying knocks that could rule them out of the game.

Parma meanwhile have only a couple of injury worries, with Brazilian midfielder Reginaldo and defender Gabriele Angella likely to miss the trip.

Manager Franco Colomba led his team clear of the relegation battle last season and will be hoping to build on that this time around, and having picked up two draws when the sides met last year, he will be convinced that they can go one step further this time around.
