Draws have been the name of the game recently with four in their last seven and the club are currently without a win in their last four premier league games, losing to Liverpool and West Brom at home with no goals scored and drawing away to Sunderland and Arsenal.

Pochettino made his name with the Saints however the Argentine coach has yet to fully implement his high pressing game in North London. Goals have proved hard to come by with 8 in the league so far and the fifth lowest attempts on goals (10.7) in the division.

spurs-adebayorKyle Walker will once again be missing this weekend with Kyle Naughton the likely replacement following Eric Dier’s midweek appearance. Danny Rose is a slight doubt but should be fit while Etienne Capoue has a knock but again is expected to be fit. Ryan Mason could come back into the side after some impressive performances of late.

While Southampton emerged as one of the teams to watch last season, a host of summer departures led to the belief that they would struggle this season.

The however has not been the case. The Saints are already 2 points better off than they were at the same stage of last season with Ronald Koeman guiding his side to six straight wins in all competitions.

The shrewd captures of Dusan Tadic, Ryan Bertrand and Graziano Pelle have so far worked with former Feyenoord striker Pelle certainly catching the eye. The Italian forward is the league’s third top scorer with 4 goals already.

With no European football on offer, the Saints will have had the additional benefit of a midweek rest which should aid their cause. Jay Rodriquez and James Ward Prowse are their only absentee’s although doubts do exist over backup defenders Maya Yoshida and summer signing Florin Gardos. Youngster Llyod Isgrove and Sam Gallagher are also struggling with knocks and could be rested.
