The Cesarewitch is the feature race at Newmarket this Saturday as part of the extremely high quality Dubai Future Champions Day and the betting market appears to be hotting up already.
The race is held over a distance of 2 miles and 2 furlongs on the Rowley Mile course and the runners taking part look like a very good filed this year.
The ante-post market has seen support for two well-liked horses, Veiled and Tuscan Gold.
Veiled is trained by Nicky Henderson and is due to be ridden by Eddie Ahern and is being offered at best odds of 10/1 The horse has an impressive record of 8 wins from 20 victories and is considered to have the potential to defeat a tough field.
The man challenge is expected from Tuscan Gold. The four-year-old is from the Sir Mark Prescott yard and the 10/1 looks like a decent price on this smart chestnut gelding.
With a record of 2 win, 3 second places and 1 third place finish from 10 runs there will be plenty of punters lumping on.
Others in with a good chance of victory include Cosimo De Medici and Keys. Cosimo De Medici is well liked by trainer Hughie Morrison and the 12/1 looks a reasonable offer.
Keys is perhaps more interesting and the Roger Charlton-trained animal has 5 wins and 2 second place finishes from just 8 starts. The odds of 12/1 look very good value.
Abergavenny looks like the pick of the each way chances and the odds of 20/1 are very tempting. The horse has a record of 5 wins and 3 second places form 15 starts and a run anywhere near to potential could well result in a place finish.
