West Brom vs. Newcastle United Odds – Can Berahino shoot down Magpies?

West Bromwich Albion star Saido Berahino will be out to celebrate his call up to the senior England squad in the best possible fashion, by shooting down Newcastle.

The striker has scored 8 goals in 13 games across all competitions this season to emerge as the deadliest English-born striker in the Premier League.

His form has been key to WBA’s steady start to the season, a run of results that sees them 11th in the table on 13 points, four points off fourth place Arsenal.

The club are currently unbeaten in their last three games, drawing 2-2 with Manchester United and Crystal Palace and beating Leicester City last time out.

The club’s away form has actually proved to be their saving grace this time with manager Alan Irvine, a summer appointment, overseeing just one win to date at the Hawthorns. The club have scored 10 but conceded 8 on their own patch.

Those stats could play nicely into a Newcastle team buzzing at the moment. After a poor start to the season, one that led to calls for Alan Pardew’s head, the Magpies has stepped up a gear in recent weeks and are currently on a run of four successive wins in all competitions.

The last two games in particular will have been pleasing as firstly the club travelled to the Etihad to beat Manchester City in the Capital One cup, a win that was followed up with three points at home to Liverpool.

The run of results has pushed the club to the brink of the top half and they currently sit 12th in the table, level on points with their weekend hosts.

Key to their reversal in fortune has been the form of Ayoze Perez with two goals in two games, Papiss Cisse and the resurgent Steven Taylor.

Another player who has impressed recently is Gabriel Obertan. The former Manchester United man has looks a transformed player this season. Sadly however that transformation is on hold for the time being after the player ruptured his thigh leaving him with four months on the sidelines.
