The QIPCO British Champions’ Day takes place at Ascot on Saturday 15 October and a fantastic meeting will be the most valuable race day in UK history.
The Queen Elizabeth II Stakes will become the highest value one-mile race ever run in the country with at £1 million prize and punters will certainly taking an interest in the outcome.
Paddy Power have been in touch to tell us they are willing to throw in free bets worth £100 for all SqueakyBumTime visitors, to spend on any football match or horse race this weekend, including the QE Stakes! Claim this exclusive offer here!
The race is the next port of call for wonder-horse Frankel. The Henry Cecil-trained son of Galileo produced an impressive workout under jockey Tom Queally in his final preparation for the race.
The horse ran over seven and a half furlongs with regular work companion Bullet Train with Frankel finishing five lengths clear of his three-parts brother.
Work watchers were not the only parties impressed by the run and punters will find it very difficult to collect odds any greater than 1/3 on the multiple winning three-year-old.
Whilst the others in the race are already being considered as “also-rans” there might be some value in looking towards the each way places, with 1/4 odds being paid to three places by some bookmakers.
Of interest in these terms are runners such as Dick Turpin and Zoffany. Whilst Immortal Verse (6/1) and Excelebration (7/1) are most likely to grab the place finishes the odds on offer appear a little short.
By contrast both Dick Turpin (20/1) and Zoffany (25/1) look like they could be worth backing at small stakes.
Dick Turpin has a decent record with some good victories to his name but can also be a little inconsistent.
Meanwhile Zoffany may not have the quality to trouble the scorer but can produce a good run on his day and the odds on him finishing in the place could prove very tempting.
