Barcelona Mallorca Odds Team News as Guardiola welcomes Joaquin Caparros

Barcelona prepare to welcome lowly Mallorca to the Nou Camp this weekend eager to get back on top of La Liga, with Paddy Power announcing free bets on any European game.

Pep Guardiola’s men are still undefeated in all competitions this season and are yet to concede a goal at home in the league. But Barca currently sit in third, two places lower than where they feel they should be.

Paddy Power have been in touch to tell us they are throwing in free bets worth £100 to all SqueakyBumTime visitors to spend on any European game, including all the action from the Nou Camp! Pick up this exclusive offer here!

However, their opponents this weekend have had a disappointing start to the campaign – only picking up two away points and nine in total.

Coach Michael Laudrup has been dismissed in recent weeks but new boss Joaquin Caparros hasn’t managed to turn it around as yet and it looks like being another relegation struggle for the Islanders.

Mallorca do, however, have a half-decent record at the Nou Camp, scoring on each of their last four visits in La Liga – the only current side in Primera to be on such a run.

And Caparros’ side have won three times at Barcelona since 2000 in the league – the joint-most of any side.

In team news, summer signing Cesc Fabregas is likely to come back into the starting line-up. Pedro, however, is definitely missing after injuring himself in the midweek defeat of Granada, while Gerard Pique is still recovering from a hamstring injury and is unlikely to be risked tomorrow.

Alexis Sanchez remains on the sidelines with a longer-term hamstring problem, and Ibrahim Afellay is also out long-term with a cruciate injury.

The action gets underway at 19:00 BST this evening and with great rivals Real Madrid looking even stronger this year under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, Guardiola and his coaching staff will be well aware of the need for three points here.

And in all honesty, any other result would be a huge shock. This looks set to be another Nou Camp master class from the European Champions.
