Tottenham Aston Villa odds as Paddy Power indicate Spurs bets shortening for title bid

Ahead of facing Aston Villa at White Hart Lane on Monday evening, Tottenham defender Ledley King has spoken of his desire to play for England again as Paddy Power have free bets on the football tonight.

Paddy Power have been in touch to tell us they will offer free bets worth £100 to all SqueakyBumTime visitors to spend on any midweek game, including the action from White Hart Lane and the midweek Champions League! Pick up this exclusive £100 free bets offer here!

The 31-year-old hasn’t played for his country since the 2010 World Cup, but still believes he can force his way into Fabio Capello’s plans for Euro 2012.

This is despite constant injury problems which mean he can never play more than one game in a week, as well as having a strict training programme.

Referring to his England future, he said: “I haven’t given up. It’s in the back of my mind but it’s getting further and further away.”

“I realise, going to the World Cup, how difficult it can be for a person in my position who doesn’t train. Going away with England you really need time on the pitch, you need to gel and bond as a group.”

“It’s difficult for me to do that and, to be fair to the manager, Franco Baldini and the other staff were great to let me do what I’ve been doing at Tottenham.

“But it’s a lot easier here where I know everyone and everyone understands. It’s a difficult situation.”

King will put his international future to one side on Monday though as he looks to help Tottenham to three points against Aston Villa.

Harry Redknapp is set to return to the dugout for this one as Spurs search for their eighth win in nine Premier League games. They are in excellent form right now and will be in good spirits going into this one.

As for Aston Villa, they would have enjoyed their 3-2 victory over Norwich just before the international break, but they still need to work on their consistency. Therefore, a positive result at White Hart Lane would be a real boost for them.

The action gets underway at 8pm on Monday evening as this game acts as the finale to the Premier League weekend.
