Getafe v Real Madrid 19:00 Sat
Despite the fact that Getafe are the outsiders with Bet365, sit nine places below them in ninth, Real Madrid will undoubtedly have a hard trip to the Coliseum Alfonso Pêrez on Saturday.
Getafe have only suffered one home defeat in the Primera Liga all season when they ran out a 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano in September.
Luis Garcia Plaza will also be hoping to gain revenge on Jose Mourinho’s side after his team lost 4-2 in the reverse fixture, also in September.
The home side are unbeaten in their last six matches and could jump up to sixth should they earn a surprise win over the league leaders, if only for 24 hours or so.
Real may have the best form of five wins and one loss going into the fixture but won’t find it an easy thing to come away from this game with three points under their belt after Plaza’s Getafe are looking to improve massively on last season’s 16th placed finish, where they scraped away with top flight survival.
Real can also boast having the league’s best away attack going into the match but it makes the prospect even more interesting when you consider that Getafe have the 2nd best home defence in La Liga, second only to the impenetrable Barcelona.
The Madrid side have worked tirelessly in their efforts to open up a seven-point breathing space between them and second-placed Barcelona this season, but the wheels look to be coming off the machine after news surfaced of dissent within the ranks.
Mourinho is already being linked with several managerial jobs in England, supposedly wanting out of the Spanish side, which can only have a negative impact on morale; something Getafe will be counting on entering this matchup.
