Barcelona v Real Sociedad Sat 21:00
Unbeaten in their last eight matches, Barcelona will head into Saturday’s match against Real Sociedad heavy favourites with Bet365 and feeling quietly confident about their chances of coming away with a win.
It’s safe to say that the current league title holders will need to scoop up just about every point they can in the remaining league fixtures if they are to catch Real Madrid, who are now a considerable seven points away from Barća at the summit of the Primera Liga.
No side has found it easy to travel to the Camp Nou this campaign and Pep Guardiola’s side are yet to suffer a home defeat this season, making Sociedad’s chances all the more slim.
On average, Barcelona have conceded a meagre 0.20 goals in each of their home fixtures and though Real Sociedad have the sixth best attacking record when playing away from home, it’s still not expected to be enough to come away with a win.
That being said, Sociedad did manage to scrape a point from the reverse fixture of this match in September and Phillipe Montanier will be pleased if he can take away a similar result this Saturday.
Sociedad will be pleased to see the back of the January transfer window after starlet Antoine Griezmann was being linked with a move to Arsenal with Carlos Vela completing a permanent move to the Spanish side.
Now, the 12th placed side will be hoping to crack on with what has already seemed like an improvement on last season’s 15th place finish and go out against second spot Barcelona with a ‘nothing to lose’ attitude.
