Norwich City v Leicester City 15:00 Sat
Continuing what has already been an incredibly impressive return to the Premier League, Norwich City are heavy odds on favourites with Bet365 as Paul Lambert’s side look to continue their FA Cup run this weekend when they host big spending Leicester City.
Despite their financial muscle, Leicester have failed to perform as they would have hoped this season and have failed to put together a string of performances good enough to keep them in contention for promotion.
The Foxes have won only three of their last ten league fixtures and currently sit 12th in the Championship table, leading to the assumption that Saturday’s Cup fixture will undoubtedly prove a welcome distraction from a miserable domestic campaign.
Norwich may have been in the same league as Leicester just last season but have progressed unbelievably in the space of a year and will be hoping to retain a decent home record with a win at Carrow Road this weekend.
Paul Lambert’s side have only lost one of their last six Premier League fixtures and have also recorded four wins in those six outings, making for a formidable form run going into the match.
Leicester, on the other hand, have managed just two wins in their last six matches, losing three and drawing another.
These two sides haven’t met in the FA Cup since 1997, where Leicester proved victorious in a 2-1win, however they had the home advantage on that occasion.
In their last eight meetings, the Canaries have come away as victors on six occasions, with Leicester winning just once.
Although Norwich certainly look to be favourites on paper, Leicester have nothing to lose from this matchup with promotion looking unlikely, and Nigel Pearson’s outfit will be raring to cause an FA Cupset on Saturday, although the Foxes were dealt a blow midweek after Danny Drinkwater and Paul Gallagher hobbled off with injuries in their disappointing defeat against Watford.
Nathan Delfouneso should come into the Leicester side after receiving permission to play after signing on loan from Aston Villa, and he should be fit to make his debut at Carrow Road.
