Roma v Lazio Sun 14:00
In what is known to be one of the fiercest rivalries in European and even World football, Roma and Lazio will clash once again in the Derby della Capitale with Bet365 making the Biancocelesti long odds, as both sides seek to tie down a top four position.
The encounter will undoubtedly have a massive bearing on who we see in next season’s Champions League, with fourth place Lazio just seven points ahead of AS Roma, who currently sit in sixth.
The visitors boast the better form going into the match with four wins and two losses in their last six outings.
Roma haven’t been quite as successful in recent weeks and have managed to gain just eight points from their last possible 21.
Lazio walked away as 2-1 victors in the reverse fixture earlier on in the campaign and Luis Enrique’s side can move to within four points of fourth position if they take away all three points this weekend.
Their opponents have incentive of their own to win however, and if Udinese falter against Atalanta, the Biancocelesti can improve once more and move into third spot.
Roma are looking to recover from a 4-1 battering at the hands of Atalanta last weekend and with the third best home offence in the Italian top flight, it certainly is possible for them to do just that.
Lazio are no pushovers when going forward themselves though, and boast the league’s second best away attack, scoring an average of 1.75 goals per game when playing away from home.
Before October’s Lazio victory, Roma had won the previous four league outings between the two Roma outfits and with these derbies tending to toss all statistics to one side, a tightly contested encounter is sure to follow with both sides immediate European futures on the line.
Francesco Totti should return to the starting line up after returning from suspension while Daniele De Rossi should come back in the side after being dropped last week.
Marco Cassetti, midfielder Fernando Gago and striker Daniel Osvaldo will miss the game through suspension.
For Lazio Luciano Zauri and midfielder Senad Lulica are both out injured while Andre Dias and Francelino Matuzalem wiull return to the side after completing their suspensions.
