Wigan will be hoping to build on last weekend’s draw at Norwich this Saturday when they welcome 14th place West Bromwich Albion to the DW Stadium, as Ladbrokes make the odds against to take all three points against Roy Hodgeson’s side.
The Latics have witnessed a jump in standards over the past month or so earning one win and three draws out of their last five Premier League outings.
While that record may not seem staggering to most sides, those six points have put at least a temporary end to some miserable form for the Lancashire outfit and thrust them back into the battle for survival in the English top flight.
Hoping to spoil that record, however, stands West Brom who have by no means been slouches when performing away from home.
The Baggies have scored an average of 1.43 goals per game on average this season when playing on unfamiliar soil, making them the fifth most dangerous side in the league in terms of going forward when away.
Roy Hodgson’s side are enjoying an impressive run of form as of late and before last weekend’s loss to Manchester United were on a three match winning streak that included victories over Chelsea and a 4-0 hammering of high-flying Sunderland.
With the mid-table fight looking as close as ever, West Brom can ascend a massive six places with a weekend win providing that several other fixtures go in their favour.
Wigan have just as much reason to win however if not more so, and a home victory would see Roberto Martinez’s team climb out of the drop zone for the first time since the start of 2012.
