Chelsea v QPR: Blues looking to build on European triumph

Chelsea v QPR, Sunday 13:30
From the dizzying heights of a successful Champions League semi-final, Chelsea return to domestic shores on Sunday as Ladbrokes offer free bets and massive odds on QPR keeping off the better side of this West London derby.

Roberto Di Matteo’s side managed a 3-2 aggregate victory over current European champions Bercelona on Tuesday and will now go up against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena next month in the final of this season’s Champions League.

However, no matter how evident the chance for triumph in the tournament may be, the Blues are still striving to claim a top four finish in the Premier League, taking nothing for granted  on foreign shores.

Di Matteo’s men have built up an impressive record of late and are unbeaten in their last ten outings across all competitions.

“Ladbrokes will offer free bets worth £50/€50 to spend on any English fixture today, including all the action from the Premiership! Exclusive to”

The battle for third and fourth spots is still completely open and although Arsenal sit eight points above Chelsea in third, the Gunners have played two more matches than the Blues.

Chelsea have drawn their last two league matches and although they may have failed to beat West London rivals Fulham, they will be striving to go one better in this encounter by blocking QPR’s route to top flight survival.

The Champions League finalists have failed to score in just 6% of their home fixtures this campaign, averaging over 2 goals per home fixture this campaign.

When compared to the miserable away defence of QPR, the odds would certainly seem to run in the favour of this weekend’s hosts.

That being said, Mark Hughes’ team go into this fixture having come off the back of a victory over top four contenders, Tottenham Hotspur, and although they remain just above the drop zone, are in a similar vein of form to Chelsea.

The Hoops have been just as poor when attacking too, failing to score in 41% of their away games this campaign.

Gary Cahill and David Luiz are set to miss the match through hamstring injuries while Branislav is another defensive omission as he serves the remainder of his suspension.

This hands a massive boost to QPR who are looking to stage an upset but will be without Adel Taarabt and Samba Diakité due to suspension and injury, respectively.
