Juventus planning to poach Newcastle speedster

After sealing their 30th Scudetto title, Juventus already seem keen on building on this season’s achievements and are reportedly eyeing up a move for Newcastle talisman, Hatem Ben Arfa.

The Serie A outfit have admittedly had a miraculous season, going the whole league campaign without a single loss but Antonio Conte will need to go one better in the 2012-13 term as he contends with a Champions League tournament.

Ben Arfa has had a breakthrough year, emerging as a first team regular on Tyneside after a long period struggling with injuries.

The Frenchman has made 29 appearances for the magpies this season, scoring six goals and making six assists in the process.

Reports suggest that Laurent Blanc is considering calling the winger up to his French national squad in time for Euro 2012 after almost two years away from the international scene.

The 25 year-old’s stock has already risen considerably over the past eight months and Juve would be smart to ensure that figure doesn’t increase again if the midfield maestro does feature at the Euros.

Alan Pardew will be one face trying to ensure that his star remains at the Sports Direct Arena and although Newcastle haven’t yet clinched Champions League football, the club appears to be on the up and could be playing amongst the European elite in the coming seasons.

The winger made the move to Tyneside in 2011 after spending a season on loan with the club and although the transfer fee was undisclosed, it’s generally figured to be £5m.

However, should the Bianconeri submit the right bid, Newcastle could be forced into selling their attacking outlet, who is currently thought to be valued at around £9m.
