It appears that are Arsenal are in the mood for summer spending after reportedly wrapping up the signatures of Lukas Podolski and Yann M’Vila but don’t look likely to stop there as they continue to be linked with Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia.
The Argentine midfielder has been associated with a move to the Emirates Stadium for almost eighteen months but the Gunners aren’t the only suitors interested in his signature.
If sources are to be believed, Arsenal will face competition from AC Milan, who are looking to bounce back from losing the Serie A title to Juventus this season.
The Italian outfit may hold an advantage over their English counterparts too, as Biglia has stated in the past that he would prefer a move to the sunnier climates of Spain if he were to leave the Belgian top flight.
His wish may come true too, after Biglia himself stated that Real Madrid have bee tracking him in recent months as they consider a summer approach.
Biglia has made 37 appearances for Anderlecht this campaign, scoring two goals and making an impressive 13 assists in the process.
The 26 year-old is a fairly late addition to the Argentinian national side having earned his last cap just last year but the defensive midfielder has gone on to feature six times for the senior side.
With three years left to run on his current deal with Anderlecht, Biglia would be expected to cost around £10m if he were to exit the Belgian side.
If M’Vila and Podolski are on their way to North London as stories suggest, then Arsene Wenger’s side have already spent around £30m before the transfer window has officially opened in what has been a big turnaround in the club’s spending policy.
