Although the club may have clinched top flight survival with weeks to spare in the Premier League season, it seems as if some of Wigan’s bigger stars could still be moving on this summer with Victor Moses and Mohamed Diamé reportedly attracting the attention of Liverpool.
The Reds have been linked with Diamé in the past but the news of Moses being on their radar is a fairly new addition.
Kenny Dalglish’s side have been linked with several wingers in recent months including Aaron Lennon, Adam Johnson and Eden hazard.
Whether the Scot remains at the helm of the club long enough to actually see any new faces come in at the end of the season or not, the Merseysiders are looking likely to strengthen their squad in the coming months after what was a massively disappointing league campaign.
Maxi Rodriguez, Dirk Kuyt, Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani are all looking like favourable candidates for the Anfield exit over the summer period and should the trio leave, wide reinforcements will undoubtedly be needed.
Defensive midfielder has been another point of criticism within the Liverpool squad and after the season-ending injury of Lucas, it was highlighted what a crucial part of the pitch it is for the side.
Diamé hasn’t featured as prominently for Wigan since it became apparent that he was keen on a move away from the club but the Senegalese international has proven himself to be a top Premier League anchorman on his day.
To make the deal even sweeter, Diamé’s contract at the DW Stadium expires in July, meaning that the 24 year-old will be available as a free transfer.
Moses is a slightly different story and still has a year to run on his deal, meaning that he is expected to command a fee of around £7.5m.
