The Dutchman has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium for the past two transfer windows and among the list of possible suitors, Manchester City and Juventus are said to be leading the race for van Persie’s signature.
To prevent him losing his star, Arsene Wenger is reportedly looking to tie up deals for Yann M’Vila, Younes Belhanda and Olivier Giroud in the coming months in what would be a dramtic turnaround of the club’s standard transfer policy.
Wenger has come under fire in recent seasons for not splashing the cash in transfer peiods and instead opting for home-grown talent or cheaper deals.
The North London side have already succeeded in luring Lukas Podolski to the Emirates and seem intent on further spending.
Yann M’Vila was said to be inches away from completing his own move up until early May when a legal matter put an obstacle in his path.
The Rennes anchorman is currently valued at £17m and would signal a record-breaking transfer for Arsenal should they choose to purchase him.
Two other names associated with the Gunners of late also, are Montpellier pair Younes Belhanda and Olivier Giroud.
The pair have been key in a campaign that sees Montpellier challenging for the league title on the final day of the season, with just big spending Paris Saint-Germain as rivals.
Belhanda is reported to have announced that he wishes to spend another season in his current surroundings before moving on but should Arsenal make the right offer, both he and striker teammate, Giroud, may not have much of a choice in the matter.
Following his attacking exploits this season, Belhanda is allegedly valued at £15m while Giroud boasts a slightly more significant price-tag of around £22m.
