Mario Balotelli and Sergio Aguero have reportedly nailed their colours to the Manchester City mast after rumours gathered that they would depart the Premier League champions this summer the Daily Mail reports.
Speculation started to gather that Aguero would leave the Etihad Stadium in the close season started to snowball after his father-in-law Diego Maradona insisted he should join Real Madrid.
The Argentinian legend fuelled a theory that the 23-year-old was using City as a stepping stone after being quoted in Spanish newspaper AS claiming his fellow countryman should consider moving to the Bernabeu
“Kun has to play for Real Madrid. Even though he is flying at City, the best thing would have been to sign for Madrid.” Maradona said.
“He made a mistake. Now, as he is doing so well, it will be difficult to get him from City. However if Madrid want someone, they get them.
‘It’s a question of convincing City but not with money because they have plenty of that.”
However Aguero, who’s goal on the final day against QPR sealed the City’s first top-flight championship in 44-years, reassured supporters that he is committed to the club.
Speaking to Argentina radio station Radio La Red he said: “I will continue with the City, I want to play in the Champions [League] here. Today City lives up to anyone, so I do not want to go. I decide where to go. If I say I stay, I stay.”
Teammate Balotelli also quelled fears that he would sign for AC Milan telling Gazzetta dell Sport that there was no truth in the rumours linking him with a move to AC Milan
“I play at Manchester City” the 21-year-old said.
“I am happy at City and I will remain there. I don’t know anything. I haven’t had any contact with them (AC Milan) in the past few years.”
