Chelsea nearing deal for £40m Hulk

Chelsea are hopeful of completing a deal to sign Porto striker Hulk with talks ongoing between the two clubs a Squeaky Bum Time source tells us.

Just 48 hours after completing the £32 million capture of Lille star Eden Hazard the Russian oligarch is prepared to spend around £40m to bring the Brazilian frontman to Stamford Bridge and is reportedly close to finalising the transfer.

He has been chasing the 25-year-old for 18 months and was close close to signing him in January only for Porto to remain firm on their £60m valuation that eventually scuppered any potential deal.

However the European Champions are now thought to be on the verge of capturing Hulk, full name Givanildo Vieira de Souze, after he professed his desire to play in the Premier League forcing the Portugeuse club to change their perspective.

His representatives have been locked in negotiations with the West London clubs hierarchy and it’s belied they’ve struck a deal that will see him paid £120,000-a-week on a four-year contract.

The Brazilian frontman is owner Abramovich’s first choice to replace Champions League hero Didier Drogba who has opted to leave when his contract expires on 30th June after eight years with the club.

He won’t be the only player exiting Kings Road with rumours circulating that Jose Boswinga is a shock target for Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.

The 29-year-old is also out of contract and is set to be released despite starring for Chelsea in their European triumph over Bayern Munich earlier this month.

He could be joined in the departure lounge by Florent Malouda with Lyon reportedly enquiring about bringing the 31-year-old France international back to the Stade de Gerland five years after he left to join the Blues.

Wnger Salomon Kalou, another set to depart, has decided he wants to remain in England despite interest from Bundesliga side Schalke and could join either Arsenal or Tottenham.
