The Brazilian is a long-term target for Blues owner Roman Abramovich and is reportedly being lined up to replace Didier Drogba who left the club on a free transfer last month.
The 25-year-old was said to be keen on a move to West London earlier in the summer but insists he doesn’t pay attention to rumours amid renewed interest from Paris Saint Germain.
Hulk is concentrating on representing his country at the London Olympics next month as one of their over-age players after revealing he hasn’t been in contact with Chelsea.
“I have done nothing with Chelsea or any other club,” stated Hulk to Lancenet.
“I have four more years on my contract with Porto and I’m focusing on the national team.
“I haven’t talked to anyone. As everyone knows, I don’t follow negotiations closely as that will make me lose my focus. I let my agent deal with that stuff.”
Abramovich and Di Matteo are desperate to get a new forward in before the Premier League season starts in August but aren’t prepared to meet Porto’s €70 million asking price.
In the meantime the Italian has switched his attentions to Sport Club Internacional midfielder Oscar with a £25m deal thought be close to completion according to the Guardian.
The supremely gifted Brazil was a target for new Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas but withdrew from the running after it became apparent Chelsea were in pole position to land the 20-year-old.
Once the transfer is concluded it will take Abramovich’s spending close to the £60m mark after forking out £32m to sign wingers Eden Hazard from Lille and Werder Bremen’s Marko Marin for £7m.
