Sergio Aguero lights up Manchester City after dream debut against Swansea City

Manchester City record signing Sergio Aguero enjoyed a fantastic debut last night as he scored twice after coming on as a substitute against Swansea City.

The home side were only winning 1-0 when the Argentinean striker was introduced in the 59th minute, but he didn’t take long to make an impact.

First he tapped in at the far post to double City’s lead, then he showed excellent skill to set up David Sliva for the third goal, before producing a fantastic 25-yard strike to finish the evening in style.

Aguero is already a fans favourite and they will now be expecting plenty from him over the course of the Premier League season.

City boss Roberto Mancini was full of praise for his £38m man after the 4-0 win, saying that there are similaraites between the striker and Brazil legend Romario.

The Man City managed said: “Sergio is a photocopy of Romario, they are the same player. He is not 100% yet but he is going to be fantastic for us.”

This is a big comparison to make, but the early signs are pointing towards Aguero being one of the signings of the summer as he looks to pay back the massive transfer fee.

As for Swansea, they won’t be judged on this result. Nobody expected them to come away with a positive result and it really was one of the toughest starts possible.

They started the game brightly though and will clearly look to play their passing game, no matter who the opponents are. Many are looking forward to watching them this year, that’s for sure.

The final word has to go to Aguero though. The 23-year-old looks like adding another dimension to what is already an incredibly strong Manchester City squad.

He will look to be in contention to start their next game at Bolton on Sunday, possibly alongside fellow countryman Carlos Tevez who could make a first-team return according to Mancini.
