Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men are the last team to win at the Juventus Stadium, coming from behind to win 2-1 last January, and given their recent improvement in form there is a quiet confidence in the squad ahead of the game.

That view is backed up by striker Eder, who told Tuttosport “We know that on Saturday we will come up against a great team,”

“But currently Sampdoria has a different mindset to that of the past and for this we have to say thanks to Mihajlovic.

“We are not going sit back and defend, rather we will fight to bring home three points that are fundamental to our bid for survival.”

Both clubs have no injuries ahead of the game however Sampdoria will be with suspended pair Roberto Soriano and Nenad Krsticic.

Earlier on Saturday, Roma will hope to keep the pressure on when they take on Livorno at home.

Rudi Garcia’s side bounced back from their 3-0 defeat against the champions by beating Genoa 4-0 last time out and they will hope to continue their return to winning ways against second bottom Livorno, who parted company with manager Davide Nicola this week.

On Sunday, Clarence Seedorf will take charge of AC Milan for the first time when they take on Hellas Verona while cross-town neighbours Inter will hope to put some indifferent form behind them when they travel to take on Genoa.

Catania will begin their search for their manager of the season after they sacked manager Luigi De Canio following just three months in charge. De Canio replaced Rolando Maran in October but has been unable to turn the tide with the club currently four points adrift at the bottom of the table.

They face a tough ask this weekend when they face an in-form Fiorentina side unbeaten in four.

Sassuolo will hope to build on their stunning 4-3 win over AC Milan when they take on Torino at home while Lazio with two wins from their last four games face Udinese.

Napoli will fancy their chances of three points against third from bottom Bologna while Parma, unbeaten in their last 8 Serie A games will also hopeful of extend their recent run against Chievo.

Finally, midtable pair Atalanta and Cagliari will face off with both sides hoping to move into the top half of the table.
