Inter have been in good form of late and are currently unbeaten in their last five games picking up points against both Fiorentina and Roma.

The recent results has moved them to within one point of fourth place Fiorentina but with in-form Parma and Verona just below them there is no room for error.

Walter Mazzarri’s men beat Torino 1-0 last time out thanks to a goal from top scorer Rodrigo Palacio while Verona crashed 2-0 away to Parma.

The club have won just once in their last five games, a 3-2 success away to Livorno and while they had until impressed recently in front of their home fans they are currently in the middle of five Serie A matches without a win on home soil, although as three of those game came against Juventus, Napoli and Roma the run is perhaps excusable.

Inter won 4-2 when the two sides met in Milan earlier in the season and according to Esteban Cambiasso, a scorer on that occasion, another win on Sunday is vital to their European hopes.

“The Verona match is important because we’re on the back of two tricky away trips where we’ve come away with a win and a draw, and winning in Verona would be a good way of consolidating our recent form,” he said.

“We mustn’t look too far ahead, just take things one game at a time.

“It’s important Inter get into Europe because that’s where the club belongs and history means you always look to achieve that: sometimes you manage it, sometimes you don’t.”

Inter’s will be without the suspended Juan Jesus for the game while Verona have no fresh injury or suspension worries to contend with.
