Allegri will hope to get back to winning ways this weekend when his side travel to take on 17th place Empoli. The club have lost both their last two games and are just one point outside the relegation zone.
Elsewhere on Saturday second place Roma travel to Naples to take on Napoli in the days big game while bottom of the table Parma will take on Inter Milan on the back of a sixth straight loss midweek against Torino.
The action continues on Sunday with Sampdoria, just one defeat in five, taking on improving Fiorentina while AC Milan, currently fourth in the table and the league’s top scorers with 18 goals, welcome 15th place Palermo to the San Siro.
Second bottom Chievo will hope to pick up just their second win of the season when they take on 13th place Sassuolo.
Sassuolo, last season’s surprise package, have continued to be a stubborn prospect for clubs and have already picked up 10 points having lost just three games all season.
The club have won both their last two games, beating Empoli and Parma by 3-1 scorelines and are unbeaten in their last three. Torino face Atalanta and Udinese take on Genoa as Sunday’s action draws to a close.
The weekend’s football action in Italy concludes on Monday when in-form Lazio, with four wins and a draw in their last five, take on Cagliari while Cesena are at home to Verona.
