The Old Lady, the current leaders in Italy on goal-difference from Roma, went down 1-0 away to Genoa on Wednesday. It was the club’s first league defeat since March and ruined Gianluigi Buffon’s 500th Serie A appearance. Even more disappointing for Massimiliano Allegri and his men was the fact that the winner came in the 94th minute.

Allegri will hope to get back to winning ways this weekend when his side travel to take on 17th place Empoli. The club have lost both their last two games and are just one point outside the relegation zone.

The action continues on Sunday with Sampdoria, just one defeat in five, taking on improving Fiorentina while AC Milan, currently fourth in the table and the league’s top scorers with 18 goals, welcome 15th place Palermo to the San Siro.

Second bottom Chievo will hope to pick up just their second win of the season when they take on 13th place Sassuolo.

Sassuolo, last season’s surprise package, have continued to be a stubborn prospect for clubs and have already picked up 10 points having lost just three games all season.
