Southampton v Leicester odds : In-form Saints to keep run going

In-form Southampton will be out to pile the pressure and misery on Leicester City when they welcome the newcomers to St. Mary’s on Saturday.

While Ronald Koeman’s side have blazed a trail through the league to currently sit second in the table, four points off leaders Chelsea, the Foxes have struggled in recent weeks after a spirited start.

The club have lost four of their last five games to slip into the bottom three with their only reprieve during that horrid run coming with a point against another struggling side, Burnley.

Since then the club have lost to Newcastle, Swansea and West Bromwich Albion with four goals conceded and none scored.

The defeat to WBA last time out was particular difficult for Nigel Pearson and his side as it ended their unbeaten home run. The club are now without a win since beating Manchester United 5-3 in September.

Despite the run of results, Pearson has backed his inexperienced side to recover, telling reporters after last weekend’s game “We’re ten games in. I’m not looking for any sort of excuse. We’ve had some really good highs so far, we’ve had some lows and we’ve had days like today [result against West Bromwich Albion], which I wouldn’t really call a low, but a frustrating experience.

Pearson could opt to give Dean Hammond, Leonardo Ulloa and Liam Moore starts as he looks to address their poor recent form while Ben Hamer will be missing.

Southampton meanwhile will look to keep the changes to a minimum. The club have won 7 and drawn 1 of their opening 10 games to currently hold a two point advantage over third place Manchester City.

Koeman will once again be without James Ward Prowse and long-term absentee Jay Rodriquez but otherwise there are no new injuries or suspension.
