“We have to go there with belief and impose ourselves on the game.”

Stoke v Swansea Live – Shelvey big blow for Swans

Monk will have to have to plan without the suspended Jonjo Shelvey however full-back Angel Rangel returns following suspension. Also out Leon Britton, Jordi Amat and Dwight Tiendalli (groin).

Swansea are currently 5th in the table on 11 points after winning three and drawing 2 of their opening 7 games.

Stoke meanwhile are 16th in the standing after an inconsistent start that includes away wins over Manchester City and Sunderland not to mention defeats at home to Leicester City.

The club have a worry over Glenn Whelan ahead of the game. The Irish star picked up a knock in his country’s draw with Germany. Steve Sidwell is the likely replacement. Whelan will join Peter Odemwingie (knee) in the stands.

However while those two are out, Victor Moses and Mame Biram Diouf have been passed fit for Sunday’s game after recovering from groin and hamstring injuries respectively while Geoff Cameron is back in contention after recovering from a hernia operation.

Peter Crouch will relish the challenge of playing Swansea. The former Liverpool man has scored four goals in his last five games against the Welsh side.
