Top Five possible moves for Bale in January

The January transfer window is fast approaching and there seems to be big interest in Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale.

He is likely to stay at Spurs, but if a bigger club comes in – he might be on the move. So, here are the top five front-runners to land the Welshman in January.

#1 – Real Madrid

If he is going to go anywhere, then the Spanish capital looks to be the most likely, especially after Luka Modric made the switch from Spurs to Real during the summer.

The two sides now apparently have a good relationship, which seems to mean that Real can buy Tottenham’s best players.

Having Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in the same side would really cause defences problems.

#2 – Barcelona

Barcelona have been linked with Bale in the past, and he is the sort of player they are crying out for to really complete the squad.

A quick winger to work alongside the brilliance of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi might just be the icing on the cake for the Catalan club.

It would be a move that would tempt him as well, as he would work alongside the best player on the planet right now.

#3 – Manchester City

Tottenham would do all they can to make sure that one of their most prized assets didn’t leave to a Premier League rival, but City’s money can be tough to turn down.

It would take a huge bid from Roberto Mancini to secure the services of the Wales international, but transfer fees are not usually much of a problem at the Etihad Stadium.

Bale would challenge for trophies at City, but also feels loyal to Tottenham and might not want to move to another English club

#4 – Manchester United

With Ashley Young not in the best of form and Nani looking like he might be on the way out of Old Trafford, Sir Alex Ferguson could be eyeing up a new winger.

When United head into the transfer market, they of course go after the very best players in the world and Bale is one of them at the moment.

They can offer him Champions League football this year as well, so it could be a good move for him.

#5 – Paris Saint Germain

If he went here, many would say it was just for the money as PSG are the only club that can challenge Man City when it comes to finances.

But, they are still in Europe’s elite club compeition and are the favourites for the Ligue 1 title.

However, a move to France would be considered a bit of a backwards step for Gareth Bale.
