Spurs line up 18 year old Vadillo to replace Bale

They may have ended the rumours for the time being but Tottenham Hotspur are making enquiries of who will replace Gareth Bale in the long run by sounding out Real Betis over 18 year old winner Alvaro Vadillo.

The left winger made 18 appearances for Betis this season and drew comparisons to Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo much like the man Spurs are lining him up for him to replace.

Spurs are unlikely to let Bale leave this summer but it is widely thought that he will depart for Madrid net summer even if Spurs do manage to secure a Champions League place.

It is not clear if Spurs’ enquiries relate to a move this summer or are an effort to secure agreement for a future transfer allowing Vadillo to stay in La Liga for the time being but the North Londoners are in advanced stages of talks about bringing the player to White Hart Lane.

Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United have all been keeping track of young winger but only Spurs have begun talks with Betis about his future.

The Spanish Under 20 international is just one of the young prospects Spurs are lining up this summer as new technical director Franco Baldini begins his plans to bring the continent’s best young players to North London as the club look to establish themselves among Europe’s elite.

Baldini has already spoken with FC Twente about their Belgian midfielder Nacer Chadli as the 23 year old wants to move this summer but his club said today that only Swansea and Shaktar Donetsk  have made a bid for the player and they will only sell to the bid closest to their £8million evaluation of the player who has one year left on his contract.

Chairman Jens Munsterman said “We hear a lot about Tottenham but the club will have to put up a concrete offer first. So far, only Swansea and Shakhtar have made concrete offers and are still options, even though Nacer decided not to go to them. We hope for some clarity this week.”

Baldini lost out on Croatian centre back Tin Jedvaj already when Baldini’s former club Roma secured the 17 year old’s signature scuppering Spurs’ plans to bring him and his Dynamo Zagreb team mate Alen Halilovic to the Lane but will now fight Real Madrid and Manchester United for the young midfielder who has been likened to Luka Modric.
