Liverpool goalkeeper, Danny Ward has put pen to paper on a season long loan deal with Scottish Premier League outfit, Aberdeen in a bid to gain first team experience before trying to become a permanent fixture for Liverpool in the coming years.
A statement on Liverpool’s official website read,
“Liverpool have confirmed Danny Ward has joined Aberdeen on a season-long loan.”
“Earlier this week, Ward penned a new long-term contract with the Reds. The Welshman has been a regular fixture between the sticks for the club’s U21 team since making the switch to Merseyside in January 2012 from Wrexham. Ward was named on the bench for Liverpool’s first team 23 times last season.”
With the signing of Adam Bogdan, Ward was always going to struggle for a place in the bench let alone being the number 1 and it seems to be the right choice made by Brendan Rodgers who sees the young Welshman as a future number 1 at Anfield.
