The Bosnian international has signed a four year deal with the Blues in a move that will see him compete for a starting role at the expense of Thibaut Courtois
After a lot of thinking and counselling, Begovic has chosen to leave Stoke City in favour of a move to Stamford Bridge where he will be provided with an opportunity to play Champions League football on a regular basis and also to win top honours.
The 28 year old has signed a four year deal with Jose Mourinho’s side and his arrival means that current number 1, Thibaut Courtois will have to be on top of his game given that the Bosnian has been guaranteed enough game time by his new manager if he proves his worth.
“I am very happy to be joining Chelsea FC,” he told the club’s official website. “After speaking at length to the manager, I feel like I can develop here and be an important part of this team.
“I am looking forward to meeting up with the team on Wednesday for the pre-season tour.”
