AS Monaco midfielder Joao Moutinho has been linked with Premier League franchise Arsenal FC and now the Portuguese is now thinking of handing in a formal request to be transferred to the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger has always been fishing for opportunities and this time around he might have solid opportunity in the shape of Moutinho. The Portugal international has been in top form but recently was sidelined for six weeks because of an injury.
AS Monaco is in the playoffs against Spanish side Valencia in the group stage qualifiers of the UEFA Champions League and is 3-1 down in the away fixture. Now they host Villareal at Stade Louis II but Monaco fans are not holding their breaths over the outing.
In the light of the aforesaid, the 28-year-old is planning to hand out his transfer request if his team does not qualify for the Champions League proper. Monaco might not have any problems in offloading the player as they need to balance their books as well and Wegner might get the chance of bringing a new face to the squad at Emirates Stadium.
